Vaping Cigarettes, Substances and Dangers are amazing

What is a vape?

Vape or e-cigarette is one type of electronic nicotine conductor. These types of cigarettes are designed to help tobacco addicts start smoking cessation. By switching from tobacco cigarettes to e-cigarettes, they slowly learned to quit smoking.

These types of cigarettes come in various shapes and sizes, but there are three main components in e-cigarettes, namely :

1. Battery,
2. Heating elements,
3. The tube containing the liquid (cartridge).

The liquid in this tube contains nicotine, propylene glycol or glycerin, as well as flavor enhancers, such as fruit flavors and chocolate. Some e-cigarettes have rechargeable batteries and cartridges.

How Vape Cigarettes Work

E-cigarettes work by heating the liquid in the tube and then producing a vapor like smoke which generally contains various chemicals. The user inhales this chemical directly from the funnel.

Vape is more dangerous than tobacco cigarettes

Tobacco versus Vape ?

Vape is an alternative that can be chosen to leave the smoking habit. The shift of conventional smoking habits to vape is because they are accused of being safer than tobacco cigarettes. However, who would have thought that this e-cigarette or vape turned out to have a more dangerous risk to health.

Unlike tobacco cigarettes, e-cigarettes do not contain harmful substances in them such as tar and carbon monoxide. However, this does not mean that e-cigarettes are safer than tobacco cigarettes.

In fact, e-cigarettes contain harmful chemicals in them such as nicotine, acetaldehyde, acrolein, propanal, heavy metals, and diacetyl which are almost the same as tobacco cigarettes.

These dangerous chemicals can threaten body and soul health. The dangers of using e-cigarettes are also according to a report from the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition, the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Indonesian Ministry of Health said that e-cigarettes have more dangerous risks than conventional cigarettes.

Some of the dangerous substances include:

• Tobacco-specific Nitrosamines (TSNAs) which are toxic

• Diethylene Glycol (DEG) which is known as a carcinogen

• Metals in the form of tin, silver, nickel, aluminum, and chromium particles in electric vapor with a very normal size (nano-particles) so that they easily enter the airways in the lungs

Carbonyl, which is a potential carcinogen in the form of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acrolein, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as toluene and pm-xylene

• Coumarin, tadalafil, rimonabant, silica fiber which can be toxic and do not meet the element of safety

• Diacetyl is a substance that appears as residue from e-cigarettes which can damage the lungs

• Benzene has also been reported to come from e-cigarettes. Benzene is known to be a poisonous substance that can be found in motor vehicle fumes and heavy metals

There are various dangers of vaping that you should be aware of, including:

1. Addiction

Just like tobacco cigarettes, e-cigarettes also contain nicotine which can cause dependence on the wearer. The nicotine contained in e-cigarettes can stimulate the brain to release large amounts of the hormone dopamine, resulting in an addictive effect.

So, vaping does not help you to quit smoking, but instead makes you addicted.

2. Harm to lungs

Even if you don't use tobacco, that doesn't mean that the dangers of vaping are lighter than tobacco cigarettes. The reason is, electronic cigarettes still contain nicotine which can increase the risk of inflammation in the lungs and reduce the ability of the protective tissue in the lungs to protect the lung organs.

Not only that, the diacetyl contained in e-cigarettes can also cause bronchiolitis obliterans, or better known as popcorn lung. "

3. Harm to the heart

Apart from being bad for lung health, the nicotine in e-cigarettes can also irritate the heart. When nicotine is absorbed and passes through the bloodstream, the adrenal glands can be stimulated to release the hormone epinephrine (adrenal). The release of the hormone epinephrine causes blood pressure and heart rate to increase.

4. Causes harm to the fetus

In pregnant women, active or passive use of e-cigarettes (exposure to vape smoke from other people) can harm the fetus in the womb. The reason is, exposure to nicotine and other harmful substances in e-cigarettes can interfere with fetal development.

Whereas in children, exposure to nicotine from e-cigarettes can interfere with brain development and affect memory.

5. Increase the risk of getting cancer

Just like tobacco smoking, vaping can also increase the risk of developing cancer. The formaldehyde content contained in e-cigarettes is carcinogenic, so if inhaled for a long time, it can trigger the appearance of cancer cells.

Another danger of vaping is when the nicotine liquid used to fill

e-cigarettes comes into contact with the skin or is accidentally drunk by children. This can lead to serious conditions, even death. Therefore, always save and dispose of vaping tools properly to prevent children from getting poisoned by vape.
