Smoking Can Make Your Face Older. Proven!

Smoking Can Make Your Face Older
This is not just a theory or myth, but the bad effects of smoking prove that smokers will appear to have a face that is older than their actual age. This fact is actually very realistic with the content in cigarettes. Because it cannot be denied that a single tree contains millions of poisons which can have a negative effect on the body's metabolism as a whole.

This has also been proven by researchers from the University of Bristol, England in the journal PLOS Genetics published on October 31 2019.

In their research, the experts used genetic data from the British Biobank. This data involves 500,000 respondents. From there, researchers studied 18,000 different traits to see to what extent cigarettes can affect a person.

They found that smoking can affect facial appearance, in addition to damaging lung health. According to experts, the more often people smoke, the faster the number of wrinkles on their face will increase and increase. This is what causes a smoker's face to appear older than his actual age. The toxic influence of nicotine as the main ingredient in cigarettes plays a major role in affecting human body cells in general.

In their research, the team used a new approach to analyze data from Biobank to investigate the effects of exposure to other substances, including alcohol. "We looked for tens of thousands of traits to identify how smoking habits affect a person's condition," said Louise Millard, lead author of this study, as reported by Newsweek, Saturday (2/11/2019).

Millard and his team used two methods to test their hypothesis.

The first method is known as Mendelian randomization, which looks at genetic variations in DNA to help understand how certain risk factors affect health.

In the second method, experts compare genetic associations in people who smoke and do not smoke. This is to overcome bias in the Mandelian randomization method

Experts say that someone who smoked at least five cigarettes a day for 12 years and a former smoker who used to smoke five cigarettes per day for 21 years, then stopped for 10 years, look much older than people who have never smoked.

Even though he has found this fact, Millard said that other research is still needed to confirm the causal relationship between smoking and facial aging.

Millard and his team hope their findings can help smokers quit smoking. Rethink about the effects and bad effects of smoking on health and also the condition of the body and face which will appear older than your actual age.

Are you willing to have a face that is older than your actual age??
